Dr. Ana Nemec, DVM, PhD, Dipl. AVDC, Dipl. EVDC, Assist. Prof.
I am a veterinary dentist and primarily work with dogs and cats. In today's rapidly expanding field of veterinary medicine, specializing in a particular area is essential for professional success. I know that only with this focus can I offer comprehensive services based on extensive knowledge and a constantly growing wealth of experience, which I began developing after graduating with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 2004. I initially pursued this experience as a doctoral student in biomedicine at the University of Ljubljana before undertaking a three-year residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of California, Davis, USA, one of the world's leading veterinary schools.
Since 2012 I have been in Slovenia to help you care for your pet's dental and oral health.
I want to pass on the knowledge I have gained from my outstanding mentors and through continuous learning, because knowledge is dead if it is not shared. I teach students at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Ljubljana and since 2015 have participated in over 110 veterinary conferences in the USA, Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Africa, Russia, and several European countries, as well as in my home country of Slovenia.
In addition to my clinical work and teaching activities, I am also active in the European and American Veterinary Dental Colleges, the VOHC Council, the WSAVA Dental Standardization Project Committee and the journal Veterinary Dentistry and Oromaxillofacial Surgery.
I am a member of the European Society of Veterinary Dentistry and recipient of national and international awards in veterinary medicine, a reviewer for several international journals and author of research and specialist articles.
I really enjoy my work – it is fulfilling and allows me to meet inspiring people, see amazing places and try new tastes.
I look forward to meeting you,
